When The Assignment Ends: A Story of Trust

November 02, 20253 min read

One month ago, I was released from my job. 😬

Twenty years. One industry. Countless roles. And just like that… chapter closed.

But let me tell you something — this wasn't a shock. It was a confirmation.

About a month before it happened, I started dreaming that the end was coming. Night after night, the same whisper: “Get ready.” So I did.

I shut everything down and started implementing the instructions I was given in those dreams. And let me be clear — I wasn't planning an exit strategy. I was preparing for a divine shift.

Now, did a part of me feel scared? Absolutely. I was being nudged off a ledge I’d gotten real comfortable with — a ledge that looked like stability, but really just offered fake security.

For weeks, I’d flinch every time an email hit my inbox. My heart would pound, and I'd wonder, “Is this the one?” I kept reminding myself: This was just an assignment. Not my identity. Not my destiny.

So I replaced fear with truth. I clung to Scripture. I rehearsed God’s promises louder than my anxious thoughts. Because the truth is — God had already been preparing me.

✨ He gave me four weeks of warning.
✨ He helped me build a business that sustains itself.
✨ He led me to cut costs and declutter my life.
✨ And most importantly, He reminded me: He is my source. Everything else is just a resource.

The morning it happened, the final email hit my inbox at 2:00 AM. When I woke up at 5:00 AM and saw it, I didn’t panic. I praised.

I woke my husband and told him, and bless his heart — his chest tightened with concern. That’s the normal response, right? But I couldn’t stop smiling. I’m sure I sounded half-crazy as I explained why I was overjoyed.

Because this wasn’t rejection. This was release.

This shift doesn’t shake my faith — it confirms it. The assignment ended elegantly and on time. And now, I’m free to walk fully in what’s next.

I’ve cleared my plate of anything that doesn’t nourish my spirit. I’ve tightened the ship. My portion is healthy, balanced, and overflowing with JOY. My RemArkable women will understand: I want to live.

And now, I’m walking this thing out — day by day — proving what I’ve always said:

🗣 God is my Source.
🗣 Faith is my strategy.
🗣 Obedience is my currency.

The kind of #TRUST I’ve been exercising this past year? Whew, chile.

The same trust I’ve been teaching about, preaching about, encouraging y’all to walk in? Yeah… God said, “That lesson? It’s got your name on it too.”

It’s the way He so intentionally orchestrates these life moments just to make a point — like I’m in a live-action object lesson. 🙃

And listen — sometimes I legit feel like the process is ghetto, and I want to fight the air. 💨💢

But then I get to the other side of it…
And I see what He was doing…
And I can’t help but love Him more for walking me through it patiently — like I needed the “Faith Walk for Dummies” version of the story.

Every hard part? Every delay? Every unplanned pivot? It’s been Him proving that His faithfulness > my fear.

And I trust Him more now than I ever have.

So let’s raise a praise for this new season. 🎉
Not because it was easy. But because it’s evidence. 🕵🏽‍♀️

Proof that when we trust Him — truly trust Him — 🙅🏽‍♀️ no man, no system, no employer, and no closed door can stop what God has already set in motion.

👑 I am humbled.
👣 I am ready.
🙌🏾 I am obediently following His lead.

Here’s to the unwavering, unshakable TRUST that only Heaven can birth.

Now let me get off this blog before my “boss” catches me using Al Gore’s internet for personal use. 😉
